History of Men and Women of Action
In June 1983, a team of seven men traveled to Overstone, England to evaluate the needs of the New Testament Church of God headquarters and school. They came home, built a house in Cleveland, TN, and with the proceeds from the sale sent $15,000 to Overstone to help them with repairs to the church and school.
On January 13, 1984, Men of Action had its first organizational meeting in Cleveland under the direction of its founder, Robert D. (Bob) Pace. Since its humble beginning, the Lord has greatly blessed the MOA ministry. In 1995, Men & Women of Action was officially made a department of the Church of God, Cleveland, TN.
Today there is a mailing list of over 5,000 men and women who volunteer in this unique hands-on ministry.
MWOA is made up of volunteers from all walks of life. There is a place for every man and every woman regardless of their ability. Men and Women of Action teams have been to six of the seven continents of the world. Teams travel throughout the USA and around the world to assist in the construction of churches, schools, medical clinics, orphanages, parsonages, etc. Over 100 MWOA projects are conducted around the world each year.
Bob Pace retired from MWOA in 2000 and being the entrepenur that he is, started a new humanitarian endeavor, People for Care & Learning. At that time Hugh Carver took over as the new International Director. |
