Costa Rica 2005

An MWOA team from Dayton, Tennessee, went to San Jose, Costa Rica in January 2005 for a Christmas project. A party was held at Iglesia Dios Evangelio Completo in downtown San Jose where Jonathan and Blanca Medina pastor. Two-hundred people attended of which 150 were children. The children presented a beautiful musical program called "Worship in Heaven." Their musical was an added treat for our team. We were told that children's pastor, Brother William, practiced with the children for two hours every day getting ready for this outstanding program.

Afterwards, pizza and soft drinks were served to all. Each child received a gift bag with a toy, candy and clothing. The children were very beautiful and we received lots of smiles and thank you kisses. Adult clothing and several Bibles were also distributed. We were also blessed by giving to other needs such as the flooding in Bribri and more.

We also shared in the birthday celebration of the Medina's son, Gabriel. The Medina family and their church members were wonderful hosts. We were fortunate to have their daughter, Rebecka and church member Alcides Rojas assisting as interpreters. We felt deeply honored when Rebecka wrote to us, "I have never seen someone doing that kind of thing for other people they didn't meet before. You are like angels sharing all Jesus' Love with the whole world!"
