Hugh Carver came to MWOA in June of 1999 as Interim Director and was appointed International Director of MWOA in August of 2000. Hugh followed the founding director, Bob Pace. Hugh was born and raised in South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 and then attended Lee University from 1968-1972. He started his own business, Tennessee Custom Enterprises, where he was the owner/builder for 5 years. He also owned HHT Contractors for 3 years. Hugh was the Director of Renovations for Life Care Centers of America for 8 years and for Hubbard Health Care for 1 year. Hugh married Nona Smith Carver in 1985 and they have three children, Heath, Heather, and Tyler. |

Teddie Fletcher came to MWOA in 1994 in the formative years of MWOA. She has worked in 27 different countries since coming to MWOA. She has led Christmas Humanitarian Projects since their beginning in 1998 to Chile, Philippines, Zambia, Italy, Brazil, Sri Lanka and many other countries. Teddie coordinated the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Effort for MWOA and worked extensively in Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA. She is from Barbourville, Ky and attended Union College. She is the proud mother of three daughters, Rachel, Sarah, and Abigail, and three grandchildren, Fletcher, Winston and Harper Hicks. |

Misty Griffis came to MWOA May 2005. She previously worked with Church of God World Missions. Misty was born and raised in Bedford, PA. Misty holds a B. S. in Biblical Studies and an Associates in Christian Education. Misty has traveled twice to Casa Shalom orphanage in Guatemala and to Mississippi and Louisiana to assist in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. November 2006 she traveled to Santarem, Brazil where she distributed Christmas gifts to villages along the Amazon River. Misty is MWOA’s project coordinator and she will be the friendly voice you hear when you call into the office. She assists our team leaders in trip planning and coordination of travel. Misty married Jeremy Griffis in 1999 and they are the proud parents of Isabella, born May 2008. |

Shirley Garmon came to MWOA part-time in 2005. She has a B. S. in Business Administration and has worked in Business Management and Finance for over 30 years. She was born in Corbin, Ky, moved to Cleveland in 1975 to attend Lee University, and then married her husband, Fred Garmon, in 1982. Fred is the International Director of People for Care & Learning -www.pfcal.org- Shirley has traveled to many countries working with missions and humanitarian projects. Shirley is the webmaster for MWOA, authors the email newsletters and also manages the accounting. She has two wonderful daughters, Marissa and Whitney, and a beautiful new granddaughter, Ella Rose, born in August of 2008.

International Field Supervisors: Gerald and Betty Sams |

Gerald and Betty Sams serve as full-time volunteers with MWOA. They were appointed as MWOA International Field Supervisors and work under the direction of the MWOA International Office. Gerald and Betty have led projects in England, Haiti, Honduras, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Germany, Hawaii, Philippines, Peru, Uruguay, Zambia, Kenya, Russia and Nicaragua working with MWOA teams. They have also been active in Christmas Celebration teams. We are blessed to have this dedicated talented couple as part of our team.
